Announcing Spring 2017s Share Your Shutters Winner

Lisa Renee Nieberding

Spring is in full swing here in Cincinnati, but we haven’t forgotten about our quarterly Share Your Shutters contest. Our latest winner is Tonya S., who shared some photos of her new shutters that really show off some great design choices.

Tonya’s house features some beautiful new Polywood® plantation shutters in her dining room. Since her shutters are shut, you can really get a look at how well plantation shutters can really help you control light. Envision that dining room with some softer lighting; it’s almost a great setting for an intimate candlelit dinner, right? With the right shutters in your house like Tonya has, you can capture that exact mood no matter what it’s like outside.

Take a look at how the white shutters complement the white trim near the floors and the white ceiling. Those neutral accents make the black wood furniture and the wood floor’s natural color ”pop” even more.

That wasn’t Tonya’s only photo submission, however. She also sent in a photo of her brand-new sliding barn door shutter!

We love this barn door shutter for a lot of reasons. First off, it looks fantastic. The homespun look of the wood panel with that sleek black slider above give an enduring yet relaxed look. What we like even more than the shutters’ looks is how practical it is. Her barn door shutter sits on the front of the window frame, so it can control the light levels while still letting the window open and close.

Since her shutter sits on the front the frame, Tonya can still use her window sill. For example, if she wanted to set a plant on the sill to get sunlight, she’s even able to close the shutter so it can catch some rays while still blocking sun glare from outside.

Tonya tells us that this is the third time she’s chosen window treatments from Sunburst Shutters, and we want to thank her for continuing to choose us for all her shutter and window treatment needs. For being chosen as our Share Your Shutters feature this time, Tonya received a $100 gift card to a restaurant in her area.

If you want to show off your shutters and possibly be featured on our next Share Your Shutters contest, we want to see them! Share a photo of your shutters with the hashtag #ShareYourShutters, or submit a photo to our Facebook page. We’d love to showcase some shutters from a changeme next go around!

Or if Tonya’s photos make you think your house is missing a little something, we want to help. Call 513-216-9740 today to talk to one of Sunburst Shutters Cincinnati’s window design experts to begin.
